Today is May Day, a traditional spring holiday with origins pointing to the old Roman festival of flowers.

Here is a Demonstration that will let you explore the behavior of powers, exponential and trigonometric functions, graphs in Cartesian and polar coordinate systems, and the parametrization of cylindrical surfaces--all through the beauty of a flower.
