Do you usually include a number of visualizations in your notebooks? Are you wanting to better understand how to customize your graphics' styles, labels, and legends? Below is the notebook from the Wolfram Technology Conference 2011 presentation "Making the Most of Information Visualization Functions" by MinHsuan Peng, which I think you'll find useful. It contains a variety of examples which you can follow along with to learn more about options for controlling the layout and rendering of your graphics, or copy directly into your own notebook and customize for your own class materials.
