BTopTools for Mathematica Extends Data Acquisition Capabilities to the Lab Environment
October 7, 2008--Perfectly Scientific in partnership with Wolfram Research
is proud to introduce the BTopTools complimentary add-on package for
Mathematica 6. BTopTools allows Mathematica users
to communicate with and
control bTop-2 devices, which provide data acquisition and laboratory
control through a USB connection.
Developed by Perfectly Scientific, Inc. (PSI), the technology of BTopTools
makes all of the functionality of the bTop-2 hardware accessible from within
a Mathematica notebook. By enabling BTopTools to return results in the
form of Mathematica lists, the data acquired can be passed from the bTop-2
hardware directly into the powerful analytic functions of Mathematica.
BTopTools allows users to apply Mathematica 6 over a wide spectrum of
environmental, biometrical, and engineering-laboratory applications.
Examples of some of the ways BTopTools can be utilized, including a
real-world temperature controller, can be downloaded here.
Key advantages of BTopTools include:
- Easy-to-use technology with a simple plug-in connection
- Ability to capture data immediately
- Ideal set up for academic instruction
- Complimentary software provided
Founded in the 1990s by Professor Richard E. Crandall, PSI's corporate theme
revolves around scientific solutions for education and industry. For more information regarding BTopTools, visit PSI's website. BTopTools for Mathematica requires Mathematica 6 and is available for Windows and Mac OS X.
