Mathematica Creator Stephen Wolfram to Speak at
Mathematica Paris Conference 2004
Stephen Wolfram, creator of Mathematica and founder of Wolfram Research,
will give a special presentation at this year's Mathematica Paris
Conference, to be held October 6 in the French capital. Wolfram,
appearing via videoconference, will discuss important issues related to
his highly influential book A New Kind of Science and answer questions
from the audience.
Two decades in the making, A New Kind of Science was an instant
best-seller, praised by readers and critics of all levels, and is now
showing signs of initiating a major paradigm shift in science. Wolfram
completed this momentous book after founding Wolfram Research
and developing Mathematica, the tool that made A New Kind of
Science possible.
The one-day conference, hosted by Wolfram Research in cooperation with
Ritme Informatique, will also feature talks by
expert Mathematica users from France and around the world,
including other Wolfram staff, who will showcase current and potential
uses of Mathematica in a wide range of fields.
For those already using Mathematica or thinking about joining
the community of several million enthusiastic users from around the
world, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn about the
latest and most important advances in technical computing.
The conference will be preceded by an optional two-day training course,
which is being offered to conference attendees for a substantially
reduced cost. Space for all events is limited, so early registration is recommended.
