Seminar Objective
To give a broad overview of the major new features in Mathematica 7, including image processing, parallel computing, discrete calculus, Boolean computation, statistics, charting, vector visualization, delay differential equations, geodesy, new computable data collections, using example-driven material.
Presenter
The seminar is presented by a senior member of the Wolfram Research technical staff.
Topics
- Image processing
- Discrete calculus
- Boolean computation
- Scientific and information visualization: charting, vector visualization
- Statistics and data analysis
- Splines
- Delay differential equations
- Computable data
- Parallel computation
Delivery Type
The seminar is delivered live over the internet using Adobe Acrobat Connect. Use any one of the supported web browsers on your computer with Flash Player installed. Once you have registered for a session, you will receive a confirmation email with a seminar login link. To see and hear the presentation, click the link at the scheduled time, then simply log in to the online seminar.
Adobe Connect natively supports streaming audio and video. A telephone audio conference is also available, should you prefer to join via phone; a toll-free number is provided for callers in the U.S. and Canada.
Additional information about online seminars is available.
Materials
Mathematica notebooks and other materials from the seminar will be made available at the end of the presentation.
Prerequisites
No background or previous experience with Mathematica is required to attend this seminar. A basic knowledge of mathematical concepts such as elementary linear algebra, min/max problems, integrals, and differential equations, although helpful, is not necessary.
To sign up for this seminar, see the online seminars registration
and calendar page.
