Mathematica Password Requests
If your license is unregistered, please visit our
registration site.
If you have lost the password that was displayed on your Mathematica
license certificate, please contact Customer Service
to request a new one.
If you need a new password because you are changing machines or operating
systems, please read our
system transfer information.
If you have already registered and obtained a password but unexpectedly
need to get a new one, it's possible that your MathID number has changed.
The MathID number may change if your hard drive has been reconfigured or
significantly altered. To request a new password, please send mail
to contact Customer Service.
It is important to include the following information to help expedite
your password request:
- Your Mathematica license number
- Your new MathID number
- The changes that were made to your machine before a new password was needed
Even if you submit your password request after our regular office hours,
a new password will still be sent to you as quickly as possible.
Locating Your MathID Number
For Macintosh and Windows versions of Mathematica, the MathID
number can be found in the dialog box viewed upon installation. (The
top of this dialog box says, "Please personalize your copy of Mathematica.")
You may also retrieve a MathID number as the value of $MachineID from within
Mathematica. For Unix versions, please refer to your Getting
Started with Mathematica guide.
