Courseware Developer Program

Program Description

The Courseware Developer Program provides opportunities for Mathematica experts to develop new courses that will become a part of the Wolfram Education Group curriculum. Courses that meet the needs of the broad, worldwide Mathematica community are encouraged and will be considered in both early- and late-development stages.

Courseware developers should have solid Mathematica proficiency and experience as well as possess the ability to convey complex information clearly. All topics, both general and advanced, will be considered. Although the following list is not exhaustive, some examples of topics that have been requested for development include:

  • Advanced Programming
  • Graphics and Visualization
  • Data Analysis
  • Writing and Optimizing Mathematica Programs
  • Signal and Data Analysis (including data porting)
  • Linear Algebra
  • J/Link and Interprocess Communication
  • Interface Design and Usage
  • Entry-Level Finance
  • Program Deployment

Benefits

This program offers the following benefits to courseware developers:

  • Publication of the materials by Wolfram Education Group
  • Free technical support for approved projects
  • Wolfram Research developer newsletter
  • Revenue to develop and/or teach the course
  • Opportunities to correspond with Mathematica experts
  • Inclusion in the developer database
  • Wolfram Education Group Courseware Developer logo for your web page

Please send any questions about the Courseware Developer Program to education@wolfram.com.

How to Apply

The first step in the process is to submit a completed program application along with supporting documents. You will be contacted by the Courseware Development Manager soon thereafter to discuss technical, logistic, and business arrangements. Once a contract between the developer and Wolfram Education Group has been signed and materials have been approved, Wolfram Education Group will begin to schedule classes.

The developer is given the right of first refusal to be scheduled as the instructor for a course he or she has developed. Each developer will be requested to provide Wolfram Education Group with an exam to be used for the certification of other instructors for his or her course. Wolfram Education Group also schedules a backup instructor for every class to prevent unnecessary cancellations.
