Teaching Experience
José Luis Gómez-Muñoz has been teaching mathematics and physics to
engineering students since 1998. He is coauthor of two textbooks,
Precálculo, enfoque de resolución de problemas and Cálculo
diferencial para ingeniería. He works in the Principia Program, where mathematics,
physics, and computer sciences are integrated for freshman and sophomore
engineering students in a collaborative learning environment. Some of
the educational materials he has developed in English and Spanish are
available on the internet, including "The Murder Mystery Method Applied to Exact Differential Equations," "The Simpsons and Mathematics 3," and "A New Geometrical Explanation of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus," among
others.
Mathematica Experience
Gómez-Muñoz has been a Mathematica user since 1992, and the
Mathematica instructor for a Mexican reseller of Wolfram products since 2002. He has
contributed finite element method examples in the IMTEK Mathematica
Supplement and an improved installation procedure for the QDENSITY
quantum computer simulation in Mathematica. He has taught Mathematica
courses and seminars throughout Mexico, for which he developed more than 40 hours of Mathematica
material in Spanish. He became part of the Wolfram Education Group in April 2007.
