Presenter
The seminar is presented by a senior member of the Mathematica kernel developer group.

Delivery Type
The one-hour seminar is delivered live over the internet using Adobe Acrobat Connect. Use any one of the supported web browsers on your computer with Flash Player installed. The teleconference allows you to hear the presentation and participate in discussion. Voice over IP can also be used, and requires a suitable microphone or headset. Additional information about online courses and seminars is available.

Topics

  • Introduction to calculus functions
  • Indefinite and definite integration
  • Methods for solving differential equations
  • Solitary waves
  • Minimal surfaces
  • The Painlevé equations
  • "Show me the steps to..."
  • Interaction between discrete and infinitesimal calculus
  • Documentation and other resources for calculus

Materials
Mathematica notebooks and other materials from the seminar will be made available at the end of the presentation.

Prerequisites
No background or previous experience with Mathematica is required to attend this seminar. A basic knowledge of calculus including derivatives, integrals, and differential equations is helpful.
