Background

David Bailey offers Mathematica training courses that are designed to teach the fundamentals of Mathematica. Because of the consistent structure of the system, these fundamentals can then be applied to all application areas: algebra/calculus, numerical mathematics, graphics, and even programming the front end. The training courses also introduce the Salford Colour Math package, developed by David Bailey, which greatly extends the ease of performing ad-hoc algebraic manipulations using Mathematica.

David Bailey received his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry in 1974 from the University of Cambridge in the UK. After a period in industry, he joined Salford University to develop a Fortran 77 compiler for the ICL 1900 range of machines. David Bailey was Head of Software Development at Salford Software Ltd for many years, and is now an independent consultant.
