What training formats are used to deliver the courses?»
Our courses are offered in the following formats:
The courses are presented by a Wolfram Research senior developer or a Wolfram Education Group certified instructor. Lecture and hands-on formats are used in all classes, allowing attendees to interact with the materials, other participants, and the instructor.
What are the differences between short courses and other Wolfram Education Group courses?»
Short courses are three to four hours in length and are designed to cover special topics of interest to Mathematica users. They are written and taught by senior Mathematica developers and provide insight into emerging features and technologies within Mathematica. Short courses are inexpensive, practical, and are offered mostly online, providing greater flexibility in scheduling.
What is included with the course?»
Each attendee is provided with a set of electronic course notes; attendees in classroom facilities will also receive print copies of the course notes. A
computer running the current version of Mathematica is provided for
attendees in classroom facilities. Since Mathematica is required to run
the electronic version of the course,
a 30 day training version of Mathematica is available to attendees in online, BYOL, and onsite classes. Each attendee receives a certificate of course completion.
What do I need to bring to class?»
For attendees at computer classroom facilities, all course materials are provided, including a computer running Mathematica for use during class. Attendees of BYOL and online classes will have additional requirements. All attendees are responsible for their own meals and lodging, and photo IDs are required at some locations.
What should I bring to a BYOL class?»
BYOL training events require that you bring your own laptop computer to class. Please have the current version of Mathematica installed on the laptop you will be using. If you require a Mathematica training license for your computer, please contact us. Remember to fully charge your computer battery and bring your power cord with you.
What topics are included in my class?»
For the course syllabus and prerequisites for each class, see the course catalog.
What times are the classes offered?»
Classes held at classroom facilities run from 9am to 5pm (local time). Online class times vary. Please see the course calendar for a listing of classes and the dates and times the classes are offered.
How can my organization register several people for training?»
You can submit individual registrations from the course calendar, or our Customer Service department can assist you with multiple registrations. In the U.S. or Canada, please call 1-800-WOLFRAM (965-3726). In other locations, please email your request to education@wolfram.com.
What about reimbursement from my employer?»
Many employers will reimburse the costs of certified Mathematica training. Request a copy of your Wolfram invoice and your course certificate by contacting Wolfram Education Group at education@wolfram.com. Our address is Wolfram Education Group, 100 Trade Center Drive, Champaign, Illinois, 61820-7237, USA.
Can I use a purchase order to pay for my class?»
Purchase orders are accepted. Unless credit terms are preapproved, payment is required prior to the first day of class.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?»
Fees paid for classroom and BYOL training are fully refundable if notice is received 15 days before the first day of class. Fees paid for online training are nonrefundable but can be applied to a different training class if there is a need to reschedule. Please see the scheduling policy information.
