Fernando Sandoya

Fernando Sandoya Sánchez is a professional mathematician with academic and consulting activities at prestigious organizations. He is a principal professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), Ecuador, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematical models, logistics and transportation, mathematical economics, optimization, metaheuristics, machine learning, operations research, supply chains, actuarial analysis and others. He is a project manager and senior researcher on analytical modeling, city logistics, transportation, industrial logistics and higher education management in STEM majors. He has published more than 20 scientific articles in indexed journals, an actuarial calculus book and five book chapters on mathematical modeling topics.

Fernando Sandoya Sánchez is CEO of SolOpt S.A., a technology-based consulting company that offers optimization and data analytics solutions for industry. He has received several awards for his research activities and practical applications for industry, including a 2019 Fire Hydrant Award from MIT Professional Education and a 2021 Wolfram Innovator Award.
