Senior User Experience Designer

The mission of Wolfram|Alpha LLC is to make all the world’s systematic knowledge available, accessible, and computable. As part of our ubiquity focus we are developing new exciting web, mobile and dektop products. We are currently looking for a talented and passionate Senior User Experience Designer to work with developers and visual designers to help create great user experiences with our products.

Responsibilities:
* Designing user interface for Wolfram|Alpha web, mobile and desktop products
* Creating wireframes and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
* Translating complex user needs and business requirements into clear user-experience design recommendations
* Researching and exploring best practices in interaction design
* Collecting, analyzing and translating user data into actionable design ideas

Competencies:
* Experience and passion for user-centered design and new technology
* Experience in designing interaction for web-based, mobile and desktop products
* Expert knowledge of interface design standards and best practices
* Experience with user-experience research methods and usability testing
* Experience in using Omni Graffle, Axure or other prototyping tools
* Attention to detail and critical eye for visual design
* Flexibility and very good organization skills
* Able to work with multiple projects and balance multiple priorities
* Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Requirements:
* At least 4 years of professional experience in designing interactions
* Degree in interaction design, computer science, cognitive science, human computer interaction, psychology, or similar training
* An available portfolio or samples of work demonstrating great user-centered design solutions
