Description

English:

Mechanisms are the core of machines, which are inherent part of our civilization and that provide innumerable goods and services. This book is not intended to replace the excellent literature that on the subject is very widespread, literature that the student of the subject of mechanisms is obliged to review in the tranquility of his/her home or in the library, where you can review the topics in greater depth. This book is designed to be used in the classroom where together with the models developed in the laboratory and the programs available will be the tools to carry out the teaching process and learning of the subject, in the best possible way.

The use of Wolfram Mathematica and small software programs in the Wolfram Language embedded within the text offer a great pedagogical advantage since they allow the student to quickly explore the behavior of any linkage. The effects produced by variations in the lengths of the links or their relationships, linear and angular speeds and accelerations of the input link and the inertial parameters in the behavior of a mechanism are easily examined with the Manipulate function in the Wolfram Language. Starting from a known mechanism you can easily set new applications that would stimulate the creativity of the student, at the same time it encourages the application of the program in other areas.

The Wolfram Mathematica program with its dynamic graphics constitutes a real revolution in the field of technical computing and without a doubt its application in the present text has been quite helpful. Additionally, models, we have collected theses and research on the field of mechanisms that have include more than 20 years of teaching in this fantastic branch of engineering.

For the present work we were inspired by the best book on mechanisms currently known: Machine Design by Robert L. Norton, a text that radically changed the teaching and vision of this subject. Additional Resources
