Conference presentations will be delivered by our Wolfram experts on how to extract knowledge from your data, as well as insights from users of Wolfram technologies. This page will be updated as more talks are added.

Confirmed Talks

  • Keynote Address—Computation Meets Knowledge (What's New in Version 11)

Wolfram Language 11 is a big release, with 550 functions being added. Working with audio, 3D printing and the addition of neural networks are key highlights. But there are lots of other things, like broader functionality in machine learning, image processing, number theory and PDEs.

  • Empowering Industrial Design by Research-Led Teaching with Wolfram Mathematica (Selangor and Perak only)

This talk dives into the depth of the research-led teaching of geometrical modeling by combining research and teaching to enhance learning experience with the use of Wolfram Mathematica technologies. Some interesting case studies will be presented during the talk.

  • Mathematica for Computer-Aided Geometric Design (CAGD)

Mr. Samsul will demonstrate how to utilize some of the powerful built-in Mathematica functions to easily generate some complex surfaces.

  • Financial Applications with Wolfram Mathematica (Selangor only)

Joel Murang will share his experience applying Wolfram Mathematica technologies in the financial industry, including price options, risk calculation and formulation of trading strategies.

  • Teaching and Learning Using Wolfram|Alpha (Selangor only)

Professor Bernie Wong shares his valuable experience in learning, teaching and research using Mathematica technologies over the years at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, University of Malaya.

  • Using Mathematica and webMathematica in Engineering Research: Symbolic Evaluation for Statistical Distribution Modeling (Selangor only)

In recent years, there is a pressing need for a faster and more accurate system capable of interactively evaluating the reliability as well as the robustness of any advanced engineering system. Mr. Advin shares how he can efficiently model symbolic calculations using webMathematica technologies and his successes on certain mission-critical multidisciplinary engineering applications.

  • Wolfram Mathematica and the Internet of Things

Peter Lim will demonstrate some examples to show how Wolfram technology can be applied to ubiquitous computation in the Internet of Things, like integrating the Wolfram Data Drop with IFTTT and unifying global data sources with the Wolfram Language.

  • Using Computable Document Format (CDF)—An Ideal Format for Sharing Research in an Interactive and Powerful Way

Desmond Lim will demonstrate how to create and deploy interactive content with FreeCDF for teaching and learning, as well as the benefits of EnterpriseCDF.

  • Integrating Wolfram Mathematica CDF to Moodle-Based LMS

Mr. Haniff will demonstrate how the Wolfram Computable Document Format (CDF) can be conveniently embedded into certain Moodle-based learning management systems.

  • Mathematics Is Beautiful: It Should Be Explored and Enjoyed (Pulau Pinang only)

Dr. Yaza will share her experience using Mathematica for the past decade. She will demonstrate interesting examples about how one can enjoy learning mathematics and understand it better, as well as learning to appreciate its beauty in teaching, research or daily life.
