What does my AI Access subscription enable?
A Wolfram AI Access subscription enables a wide range of functionality in the Wolfram AI ecosystem: AI Assistant in Wolfram|One and Mathematica, LLM-enabled functionality including Chat Notebooks and programmatic LLM use, and in the higher usage tiers, AI Course Assistant for use in Wolfram U courses.
I already have ChatGPT/Claude/my own LLM client. Why do I need an AI Access subscription?
External AI providers require separate API accounts for each one. With a Wolfram AI Access subscription, you get immediate access to the integrated Wolfram AI ecosystem: no other accounts needed and no need to go outside your Wolfram environment.
What are the differences between the AI Access Basic, Pro and Research subscriptions?
An AI Access Basic subscription is included with all active Mathematica and Wolfram|One subscriptions in Version 15 and is intended for light use and exploration. The Pro tier is built for users who rely on AI features every day and provides at least three times the usage of Basic. Research is for heavier usage, programmatic workflows and even more experimentation. It provides up to ten times the usage of Basic and includes frontier model capability.
Which AI models are used for each AI Access subscription tier?
The tiers are built around capability levels, and the model mix changes as we optimize for quality, cost and reliability. We don't tie tiers to specific models.
How many queries can I submit for each different level of plan that you offer?
We cannot provide an exact number of queries as usage costs vary based on message length and context.
How do I get an AI Access Basic subscription with a product?
Starting with Version 15, Wolfram AI Access Basic is available at no extra cost to all Wolfram|One and Mathematica users with an active subscription or organizational access.
Why would I want an upgrade from the free Basic plan?
Upgrading to a higher tier gives you access to better models and more usage. Pro has almost three times the usage limit of Basic. Research has ten times the usage limit of Basic.
I purchased Version 15. Why don't I see an AI Access Basic plan in my Wolfram Account?
If your previous subscription for Mathematica or Wolfram|One or your Premier Service plan recently lapsed, your AI Access Basic plan has expired. You can regain access to your plan and all of its features, including AI Assistant, by resubscribing or renewing your service plan.
I already have a paid subscription to AI Access Pro or AI Access Research. Will anything change in my account?
If your subscription for Mathematica or Wolfram|One or your Premier Service plan is still active, you will see two AI Access plans in your Wolfram Account: AI Access Basic (provided as a free benefit of your subscription or service plan) and your paid AI Access plan. The usage allowances for these two plans will be added together. You can view your usage details in your Wolfram Account under Services → AI Access Usage.
How can I get more usage when I reach the limit for my subscription?
You can purchase a subscription for AI Access Pro or Research, which include higher usage allowances. If you hit the limits of your paid plan, you can upgrade to a higher plan (where available) or purchase Service Credits.
