Wolfram Cloud MCP connects Wolfram computation and data to your LLM client. When your LLM identifies a question that needs accurate math or curated data, it calls Wolfram tools using Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Wolfram Cloud MCP is a free service provided for users who don't yet have their own Wolfram product installed. It provides access to basic Wolfram Cloud and Wolfram|Alpha for the evaluation of Wolfram Language and expert-level answers using Wolfram's algorithms and knowledgebase. Wolfram Local MCP allows already installed Wolfram applications to power Foundation Tool capabilities in LLM systems via agents.
How you connect depends on your client. The documentation includes instructions for connecting various LLM applications and IDEs using the current recommended standard.
You continue chatting with your LLM as usual. When your LLM identifies a question requiring computation or curated data, it may call Wolfram tools automatically.
For factual answers, Wolfram Cloud MCP uses Wolfram|Alpha's curated knowledgebase, built from decades of expert data collection and verification. Computation is done using the Wolfram Engine evaluating Wolfram Language code.

Wolfram Cloud MCP is a remote MCP server and requires internet access. If you have a firewall that blocks traffic to the Wolfram Cloud, you cannot use Wolfram Cloud MCP.
