The Costs of Equality
Seth Chandler
Seth Chandler uses Wolfram Language to first explore the "physics" of classification and how necessary features of sensible classification systems coupled with the advent of modern learning techniques potentially create inequality as applied to the treatment of individuals. His framework is applied to help explain concerns about machine learning in determining sentencing. This talk has particular relevance to those in social science, moral philosophy, economics and law, as well as to those in machine learning and visualization.
