Wolfram AI Access Terms of Service

Welcome to Wolfram AI Access ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, You agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and the Wolfram Terms of Use available at https://www.wolfram.com/legal/terms/wolfram. If You do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Service, You acknowledge that You have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, the Wolfram Terms of Use and the Wolfram Privacy Policy.

  2. Service Description

AI Access is a subscription that entitles You to use Wolfram-managed AI features within compatible Wolfram products. The Service allows users to submit requests that our systems process to determine the most suitable large language model ("LLM") or AI service for the task at hand. The Service may utilize models hosted by Wolfram or may connect to third-party AI providers, depending on the functionality requested and the requirements of the task.

Certain third-party AI providers may process requests and related data in accordance with their own terms, policies and practices. While Wolfram carefully selects and manages such providers, Wolfram does not control their independent operations and is not responsible for their acts or omissions. Wolfram will never sell Your information or share it with third parties except as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support or improve the Service, or as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

    1. Model Selection

Our systems may select among available AI models and providers based on factors including but not limited to availability, performance characteristics, request type, feature requirements, security considerations and operational needs. Wolfram does not guarantee the use of any particular model, provider or model version. Available models, providers and capabilities may change without notice.

    2. Subscription Tiers

AI Access is available in multiple tiers. Features, usage limits, availability and eligibility requirements for any subscription tier may change from time to time.

    3. External LLM Providers

Users who configure an external LLM provider through Wolfram preferences may access certain AI functionality without an AI Access subscription. The scope of that functionality differs from what AI Access provides. Wolfram does not guarantee compatibility, availability, performance or continued support for any third-party LLM provider.

  3. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and to use the Service solely for lawful purposes. You are prohibited from submitting any requests or inputs that contain harmful, illegal or inappropriate content, including but not limited to offensive, abusive, discriminatory or harmful language. You are solely responsible for ensuring that Your interactions with the Service do not violate any laws or infringe upon the rights of others. Failure to comply with these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.

You may not use the Service to generate, facilitate or promote unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, unauthorized access to systems or data, malware, infringement of intellectual property rights, violations of privacy rights or any activity prohibited by applicable law. You may not use automated means to extract outputs from the Service at scale for the purpose of creating, training or improving a competing AI model or service.

  4. AI-Generated Content

The Service may generate outputs including text, executable Wolfram Language code, analyses, summaries, recommendations and other content ("Outputs"). Outputs are generated by artificial intelligence systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, offensive, outdated or otherwise unsuitable for Your intended purpose.

Outputs do not constitute legal, financial, medical, tax, investment or other professional advice. Wolfram makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, legality, non-infringement or fitness for a particular purpose of any Output.

Outputs may not be unique, and the Service may generate similar or identical outputs for other users.

  5. Notebook Context

When Wolfram Notebook ("Notebook") context is enabled, content from Your active Notebook, including code, data and other materials present in the Notebook at the time of Your request, may be transmitted to Wolfram's AI systems as part of processing Your request. You are responsible for ensuring that any content in Your Notebook that may be included as context is appropriate to submit to the Service and does not include information You are not authorized to share or do not want shared, including confidential, proprietary or personally identifiable information subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

  6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights, title and interest in and to any content, data, prompts, documents, code or other materials that You submit to the Service ("Inputs"), subject to any rights granted under the Wolfram Terms of Use.

As between You and Wolfram, You retain ownership of Outputs generated specifically in response to Your Inputs, to the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any third-party rights.

Wolfram may use Inputs and Outputs as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support and improve the Service. Unless expressly authorized by You, Wolfram will not use Your Inputs or Outputs to train generalized AI models for the benefit of other customers.

Use of the Service does not grant You ownership of any underlying software, models, systems, technologies or intellectual property used to provide the Service, all of which remain the property of Wolfram or its licensors.

  7. Data Usage and Privacy

Wolfram processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

To provide the Service, Wolfram may transmit Inputs, Outputs and related service data to third-party AI providers selected pursuant to Section 2.1. Such providers may process that information in accordance with their own terms and privacy practices.

Wolfram does not use customer Inputs or Outputs to train generalized AI models for the benefit of other customers without the customer's consent. Additional information regarding data processing, retention and privacy practices is available in the Privacy Policy.

  8. Service Availability and Disclaimer of Warranties

While we strive to provide continuous access to the Service, we do not guarantee its availability at all times. We may experience downtime or interruptions due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party service failures or other unforeseen circumstances.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any Outputs generated by the Service will be accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose. Your use of the Service is at Your own risk.

  9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wolfram shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or business opportunities.

Nothing in this Section modifies any limitations of liability contained in the Wolfram Terms of Use, which shall continue to apply to the Service.

  10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wolfram, its affiliates and their respective officers, employees, agents, licensors and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to Your use of the Service, Your Inputs, Your Outputs or Your violation of these Terms.

  11. Suspension and Termination

Wolfram may suspend, restrict or terminate access to the Service if it reasonably believes that You have violated these Terms, engaged in misuse of the Service, created a security risk or used the Service in a manner that may expose Wolfram, its customers, users, licensors or service providers to legal, operational or reputational harm.

  12. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the updated Terms on our website or otherwise making them available through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
