Simulating the Hydrodynamic Nature of Porosity

In the field of groundwater hydrology, the concept of effective porosity is well known. Wolfram Language’s suite of built-in tools allows for straightforward postprocessing of the resolved flow field to ascertain effective porosity of the medium under various flow conditions. Accurately estimating rates of mass transfer between cavities and mobile zones directly impacts the calculated timescales, costs and therefore the anticipated feasibility of groundwater remediation projects.
